Seattle

Seattle is where John Ross is living and where the Fresh Start building is located. This city is often referred to as the Emerald City and is the reason that Simon Lawrence is called the Wizard of Oz. Much of the story takes place here. The new Seattle was built on top of the old city after it was destroyed.

Knight of the Word

John Ross had been a Knight of the Word before he began working at Fresh Start. John had several children die that he felt he could have prevented. John decides to quit his work as Knight of the Word although he finds later that he cannot.
