Nest Freemark

Nest Freemark is one of the main characters in the story. Nest is only nineteen when the story begins, and although she lost her grandparents and mother a long period of time earlier, she seems to still be dealing with the fact that she feels alone. Nest's best friend is a sylvan named Pick, and Nest helps him watch over the forest. When Nest first thinks of John Ross, she remembers how several years earlier John had been sent with the mission of killing Nest if she was going to become a servant of the Void.
