Despite his familiarity with the sounds of the mine, these events are unusual and unsettling. Villegas proceeds further but feels a powerful wave of force, similar to a dynamite explosion, and when he glances back, he sees what looks like the heart of the mine erupting like a volcano. Despite the danger, he manages to drive out of the mine safely.
