Author - David Sedaris:

As introduction to the study of Naked, we will begin by examining the book's author, David Sedaris. Today's class will establish the purpose of learning about authors, research the author's other works and history, and prepare group presentations on the information which relates to Naked.

Lesson

1) Class Discussion: Introduce the book Naked to the class and discuss why information regarding an author can help readers to have a greater understanding of his works. Reasons for the study of writers include determining in what time period they are writing, gaining a grasp of their principle subject matters, establishing what style(s) the author is known for, etc.

Give the class a basic overview of David Sedaris:
