Sulaiman Abu Ghaith

Sulaiman Abu Ghaith is a spokesman for al-Qaeda, the terrorist organization run by Osama bin Laden. In a videotape broadcast October 10, 2001, on al-Jazeera, a television station based in Qatar, Abu Ghaith declares that the United States has declared war on Islam and all Muslims have been suffering as a result. The United States has been engaging in its own form of terrorism against Islam; therefore, the attacks against America were simply Islam taking its revenge. He asserts that the battle against the United States will not end until American influence is eradicated from the Middle East. The war between Islam and America is a battle between infidels and true believers and it is up to Muslims to defend their faith against the Americans.
