Book 2, Part 5, Chapter 30 - 40 Summary

In Chapter 30, Eddie tries to determine what it is Blaine wants them to ask him. They finally determine Blaine wants to hear riddles. Blaine gives them a riddle to solve in order to get a ride through the wastelands. In Chapter 31, Tick-Tock grills Jake on what he knows about machinery. Tick-Tock finally tells Jake he wants to be able to run all of the computers under the city, but doesn't know enough about them. At this point Roland manages to get through to Jake. He tells the boy to distract the other men in the room, and then try to open the door. Jake distracts the men by telling them about Gasher's inability to remember the password. As the men argue, Oy jumps from the ventilator shaft.
