Part 5, The Scarlett Field of Can'-Ka No Rey, Chapter 1, The Sore and the Door (Goodbye, My Dear), and Chapter 2, Mordred Summary
Susannah Dean finds herself prone to bouts of weeping more and more as they travel. Bill the Robot takes Roland Deschain, Susannah, Oy and Patrick Danville to an outpost. They stop to rest, and Bill makes them a cart for Susannah and Patrick to ride. Roland is eager to move on to the tower. Bill leaves them, and they give him directions to sound a horn if he hears Mordred. However, they don't hear it that day. Susannah dreams of Eddie Dean again, and a door labeled The Artist. The next night, they sense Mordred getting closer. Susannah tells Roland she is dreaming of an unfound door, and Eddie and Jake want her to find it. The next night, while Susannah is watching, Patrick draws her. She is touched by the picture, and realizes the drawing is the answer. She has him erase the sore on her mouth in the...
