Chapters 13 and 14 Summary

Bettina gets dressed after the shower incident. She goes down to the bench, where she finds Jake again smoking a cigarette. Bettina tells Jake about Meredith catching her masturbating in the shower. Jake tells her to come to his dorm room at midnight. Bettina sneaks out of Bright House and goes to Jake's dorm room.

He notices Bettina's scar from the time she burned herself with a cigarette after Babs searched Bettina's room. Jake gives her another cigarette burn to match it. He slaps her a couple of times in the face. Bettina gets mad and leaves. She starts to yearn for Jake, however, so she starts making it a ritual to sneak into his dorm room at night. They make out and Jake fondles Bettina. Even though she wants him to, he doesn't hit her anymore.
