Chapters 11 and 12 Summary

Bettina joins her other three housemates downstairs for the nightly meeting with Ms. McSoren. Ms. McSoren goes over the house rules and answers the girls' questions. The following morning is the first day of classes. At breakfast, Bettina gets her first glimpse of Cape. Bettina can see that he's very attractive.

In her English class, she has to write something embarrassing that happened to her over the summer on to an index card and pass it to the boy next to her. He has to do the same. Then they have to write something positive on the card and hand it back. This is how Bettina meets Lowell. After English, Bettina takes a smoke break, where she meets Jake.
