Chapter 33 Summary

Dirk tends to a sick May-may. After several hours of chills and delirium, the fever disappears. When she wakes six hours later, she asks if she has the fever. He tells her yes but that they are finding the medicine for her. He also tells her not to worry and she tells him that she is more worried about him than herself. After she eats, she sends him off to sleep in his quarters.

He sleeps badly and meets with Gordon Chen, who tells him they can't find the bark. He wonders where to find the bark, also known as Jesuit's bark. Two hours later he is sailing out of the harbor aboard the China Cloud. He directs the course of the ship as she sails. Captain Orlov is happy to have his ship back. They are headed to Macao and all hands...
