Chapter 17 Summary

Dirk is up early the day of the ball since he has much to do before the ball begins. May-may complains about all the noise from the building. She feels that something is bad about the house and questions whether the feng shui is correct. Dirk had not consulted a feng shui expert and this amazes May-may. To appease her he tells her to bring one in and that he had better not find any dragons under the house.

May-may tells him that Mary Sinclair has arrived in Hong Kong and asks if she can invite her over that day. Dirk tells her that he will send word to Mary, inviting her to the house to visit May-may.
