Chapter 12 Summary

As Struan is standing onshore watching the crew unload barrels, he is greeted by Mary Sinclair. They walk over to the site of the land sale. May also knows about the forty lacs of bullion. Dirk asks if she knows who holds the other three half coins, and she tells him that Jin-qua holds two. She also tells him that there are four thousand bannermen in Canton and an armada of fire ships that plan to attack the British fleet. Mary also reveals that the Chinese emperor has offered Wu Fang Choi and Wu Kwok mandarinates if they attack Hong Kong harbor.
