Chapter 6, The Creative Cross Summary

Doc is in the lab trying to observe his octopi so that he can get started on his paper when out of his window he notices Suzy walking down the street. He can't see her face but wonders what she looks like because he can only see her from behind, but from what he can see, she is a confident, happy, but not vain person. Doc tries to get back to work but he can't get his mind to focus. Doc's middle voice is accusing him of not having anything to say and that he uses science to hide this. Doc finally gives in to his distractions and goes across to Lee Chong's grocery to buy some beer.
