Twenty-Five Summary

Depressed by Dimitri's rejection, Rose is glad to find comfort in the arms of Adrian later. They begin to make love, but Rose interrupts because they lack any protection. Instead, they make love Dhampir and Moroi style. Adrian draws lightly from her neck's veins while Rose experiences a mind filled with vampire endorphins which are powerfully erotic.

Later Rose showers and heads to a Guardian cafe for food. There Dimitri is surrounded by Guardians as he sips coffee and reads a paperback. Rose sits near him and they converse. Dimitri is surprised to learn of the Queen's decision to enlist Guardians at age of 16 rather than 18, calling the idea suicide. Rose agrees, informing Dimitri she opposed the idea to Tatiana's face in their last encounter. Rose accidentally reveals her vampire's neck bite given to her by Adrian, which Dimitri comments upon to her...
