Chapter 17 Summary

Kaitlin knows she is a monster and that she has created a mess by lying. She realizes she has a lot in common with Maggie and she also curses Maggie and Amanda, the two sisters who began the feud.

Chapter 17 Analysis

Kaitlin is aware her lies are continuing to mount, and has played into the family drama just like the previous five generations. But Kaitlin also wants to be with Bram and be without a source of conflict. This causes her to brood on the past and become angry with her ancestors.
