Chapter 35 Summary

Kate goes home to an empty house. She goes to her room and rips up the picture of her and Anna and tries to tear apart the stuffed monkey Anna gave her. She cries for everything that has happened to her in the past year. She hates herself for thinking that she's never known Anna att all, but that she wishes Anna would call her now to apologize. When Sharon gets home and goes into Kate's room, her eyes are red and swollen too. Kate tells her mom that Anna doesn't like her anymore. Kate and Sharon hear footsteps and Sharon thinks it's Steve. Grandma appears and suggests Sharon rest for a while. Sharon says her marriage will never be like Grandma's because Steve respects her.
