Chapter 28 Summary

All day at school and alone at work, Kate is depressed over Will not speaking to her and the things Anna said to her the night before. While their dad is at the department store handing out free samples, Todd stops by the booth. He tells Kate to stop moping and to get out and let people know whom she really is. It's something similar to what their grandmother had told Kate the night before.

Kate walks to Sports Shack, where Will works. When he sees her, her turns and walks away. Kate asks one of the two guys Will was talking with to go get home. She mentions telling Will that when her sister has the baby and it has Will's webbed feet that they won't have to get a paternity test. This makes Will laugh from across the store, so he...
