Chapter 7 Summary

When Kate arrives at school the following day, everyone is gossiping about her dad. They are spreading rumors that her father got fired from his job and now the whole family is selling infomercial vitamins. Kate thinks it is Will that spread the rumors but it turns out to be that Diane Mullins mother was at their house the previous night and it's her that is spreading the rumors and gossip.

Chapter 7 Analysis

Diane Mullins seems to be spreading rumors about Kate to make herself feel better. It shows that Diane Mullins really has a low self-esteem. Even though she is one of the most popular girls in school, Diane is spreading rumors to make herself look bigger and better.
