Scar

Erin’s scar is a symbol of secrets. Erin has led Danny to believe that she is a member of the working class, like him. In reality, she is the daughter of a Marquess. After Erin suggested that she, her brother, and her boyfriend ski off-piste, a suggestion that resulted in the deaths of her brother and boyfriend when they set off an avalanche, Erin wanted to escape from her life. Erin received the scar on her face during the avalanche.

The money from the buyout is a symbol of a different life.
