Chapters 13 - 14 Summary

Chapter 13: The midnighters know they need to get answers from the Grayfoots. Their only connection is the note Angie left them. Rex decides to risk meeting with her. He comes up with an elaborate plan. He meets her in Saddleback, OK. She had refused to enter Bixby, OK because of the risk of getting frozen in the blue time, and Rex had not been comfortable going all the way to Broken Arrow, OK where all the Grayfoots would be. Angie is nervous and brings a knife. She does not trust Rex.

Rex plans for Dess and Jonathan to show up suspiciously as if they are Grayfoots following Rex and Angie. Rex would then kidnap Angie and head for Bixby. Angie would not protest because Rex was saving her life. Dess measures out the exact amount of gas that Rex would need...
