Chapters 3 - 4 Summary

Chapter 3: The five midnighters stare at each other across the gym floor as they realize time has frozen in the middle of the day. They try to figure out why and go outside the gym to view the moon. They recap that it seems like an eclipse. Melissa can hear the minds of the darklings deep in the desert. She says that they sound as if they are celebrating. Jonathan does not seem worried and instead thinks the extra time with his ability to be weightless is a gift. Rex is upset because he has studied the history of the midnighters for years and this has never happened before that he can recall reading about.
