Chapter 29 Summary

Finlay is stunned. Picard sarcastically thanks them for their help along the way. A moment later Mayor Teale joined them, holding a shotgun that took away any ideas Jack had about overtaking Picard. The situation continues to worsen as Kliner enters also carrying a shotgun. He ushers Finlay and Reacher together and taking out a recorder, plays two tapes for them. The first is of Roscoe to Reacher telling him that if he doesn't do as they say, she will end up like Mrs. Morrison. The second is a surprise. Charlie Hubble is pleading with her husband to come home. She tells him if he doesn't, the same fate awaits their children. Jack can't believe what he's hearing. Hubble is alive and hiding out somewhere.

Kliner tells Picard to go with Jack.....
