Chapter 14 Summary

Mayor Teale shows up in his big white Cadillac, and limping around the office with his cane, he announces that he will be the interim Chief. Jack and Finlay easily make the leap that the rest of the small department is clean. Teale is insisting that the team devote their time to looking for a connection to a violent felony arrest that might have been released and was looking for revenge with Morrison. It is a blind alley, and they know it, but can't call Teale on it without exposing themselves. Jack wants to talk to Assistant Warden Spivey at Warburton. He thinks he can get Spivey to tell him who wanted Hubble dead. Finlay tells Jack to be careful, telling him if he gets too close, they'll kill him, and Charlie Hubble.....
