Chapter 9 Summary

Roscoe drops Reacher off in town, and spends the morning sightseeing. Main Street is four blocks long and the buildings all look new or freshly painted, awnings stretched out over well-kept wide sidewalks. Reacher goes into a convenience store, buys a paper and sits at the counter with a cup of coffee. A pale woman comes in, and sits quietly at the counter until a pick up pulls up and she goes out to it. Reacher asks and is told she is Mrs. Kliner. He goes to the barbershop for a much-needed shave and haircut, and talks to the barber about Blind Blake, trying to recapture the reason he stopped in Margrave.
