Chapter 6 Summary

Reacher wakes and takes stock. A cleaner pushes his mop stopping when he sees them there. He cackles, so amused he can hardly tell Reacher why. Finally, he says he's never seen anyone wearing those kinds of clothing in all the years he's been there. Reacher explains they were told as detainees, they could keep their clothes. The old man still laughing agrees, and confused Reacher doesn't make the connection at first. Then the old man tells him they aren't in the holding cells. They are on floor three with the lifers. At seven-thirty, the cell locks clanged open.

One of the lifers spots Hubble and Reacher. Fresh meat, he tells his friends. He steps into the cell and begins with Hubble, telling him that he is in the wrong place, and is expected.....
