Chapter 2 Summary

At the police station, Baker takes him in for processing. He signals to another officer who takes his picture and his prints and then agrees to his silent request to have his cuffs removed. Baker takes him to the chief who introduces himself as Morrison and tells him he is being charged with murder. There is no presumption of innocence. Next, the chief of detectives comes in and introduces himself as Captain Finlay. He confirms Miranda warnings were given, and has him sign a release form. Unable to read his signature, he begins recording the interview, and asks him his name, address and date of birth. The man decides to play it straight, and tells the Captain that his name is Jack Reacher - no middle name, no address. The Captain presses,.....
