Summary

In Chapter 23, Jane goes on with her life, but finds no joy in it. One day in the mail, she receives the health card that she made Caleb get. She takes it to the backyard and stares at the fountain. She goes to her Saturday morning meeting. Grace is the only one who knows that Caleb is gone. When it is her time to share, she tells the group that she has been an idiot. She tells them that she has chased away the only man she has ever loved. She is like a scared little girl who does not believe that anyone can love her. She tries to write an inventory, but cannot get past writing his name. She cannot go to Austin because everything she knows is here. Her support group, her job, her house, and her memories of her daughter...
