The Grave Mound Summary

A rich man hears a voice ask him if he shared his wealth wisely. He realizes he hasn't. He hears a knock on the door. It is his poor neighbor seeking some corn to feed his children. This rich man gives double the amount the man asks. He requests only that when he dies the poor man watch over his grave for three nights. Three days later, the rich man dies. As promised, the peasant watches the grave. On the third night there is a soldier who stops for rest in the graveyard. He promises to watch with the peasant.
