Chapter 39 Summary

As Jason approaches the armory all kinds of events take place. There is a car crash and people running away from the scene of the accident, dead bodies of people that have been shot litter the way, and nothing makes sense to Bourne. There is loud music coming from inside the armory and Jason knows that something is taking place there that Carlos can use as a diversion. Krupkin and Alex are shot, though not fatally, as Carlos escapes another time, and doctors are flown in to take care of the wounded men in the armory infirmary. As they analyze the situation, Jason and Krupkin conclude that Carlos is headed for Novgorod, the Soviet training village where Carlos was being trained before he was expelled. Jason bargains to get let into Novgorod by.....
