Chapter 32 Summary

A further carefully arranged meeting with Dominique Lavier reveals that Carlos blames Marie for the fiasco at the hotel and still trusts Lavier to do his bidding. To get Carlos out of Paris where he is so heavily fortified, they hatch up a plan. Dominique will contact the Jackal and tell him she has learned that the KGB is closing in on his man in Russia. The idea is to get him to Moscow where he can be traced with greater ease. To deceive the old man watching the apartment building for the Jackal, they arrange for a Soviet embassy limousine to arrive and take them away. It is planned to look as though Krupkin had come there to interrogate Dominique. The ploy works and Carlos is on his way to Moscow.
