Chapter 30 Summary

Panov and Conklin meet up with Jason in the cemetery, still unaware that he is being watched. They go to a small country restaurant not far away where Conklin informs Jason that "we're working with the Soviets." (Page 458) Jason agrees to pay the Soviet agent to insure his loyalty. Alex brings them up to date on what has been happening with the CIA back in the States.

Carlos kidnaps the driver who picked Alex and Panov up at the airport to find out where they are. Krupkin agrees to help Jason and accepts the money offered him, which is to be deposited in a secret Swiss bank account. Krupkin informs Jason, Alex and Panov that they have been followed and discovers that the Jackal is after Jason. Krupkin wants the Jackal himself. Carlos.....
