Chapter 18 Summary

Stephen DeSole of the CIA takes the bait of money for his retirement and his grandchildren's educations from the new Medusa. Putting the name David Webb together with events he remembers from many years ago, he now knows that the man who had broken the Medusa code of secrecy is known as Jason Bourne. He tells Armbruster, chairman of the Federal Trade Commission and high up in Medusa all he knows about Bourne. It is the first time that Armbruster and his mafia hit man have heard the name or the identity of Carlos the Jackal. Later the mafia hit man hired by Medusa eliminates DeSole.

In a similar incident on Tranquility, it turns out that the Crown Governor has also met his untimely death. Jason tells his brother-in-law that he is leaving for.....
