Chapter 12 Summary

Bourne and Ivan finish up the "cleaning" and carrying out the body. Then Bourne calls Alex to have Cactus, the black forger, get in touch with him at the estate. He has Cactus round up some tough blacks to come and be guards to keep anyone from entering the estate and to see who tries to do so. Once again Bourne tells Alex he would kill him if he stood in the way of his plan to smoke out the Jackal. Bourne discovers that someone besides Rachael was in the room when the General was murdered. She and Eddie know who it was, but they have successfully disappeared. Bourne is sure it was a Medusa assassin. Bourne, it is revealed, is independently wealthy and provides the money to pay off the other security guards working for the estate.
