Chapters 16 through 18 Summary

Chapter 16 finds Emily entering her first Spanish class dressed as Spazmo. All the students stare at her and since Kimmie is sitting next to her, she is forced to introduce herself as Spazmo rather than her real name. She quickly escapes to the bathroom and calls her mother back in Iowa, but before she can explain her situation, Kimmie enters the bathroom and she is forced to hang up. Leaving the bathroom, Emily runs into Mac in the hallway and Mac doesn't recognize her at first, but she encourages Emily to keep going with the plan. Then Mac suddenly rushes away and Emily sees Lukas Gregory, a boy Mac likes, in the distance and realizes that her best friend in Bel-Air is embarrassed to be seen with her.
