Summary

In Chapter 45, Fayre, Morrigan, Cassian, and Rhysand arrive at an Illyrian training camp. It is physically cold there but there is also a lack of emotional support and warmth. Those who train here are expected to be tough and there are no creature comforts and those who train and work here are rough. Rhysand opens the visit with the announcement that Fayre is his and that no one is to bother her. Rhysand explains the feud that exists between the Night Court and Spring Court. Tamlin's father was threatened by Rhysand's power and set out to kill him, but killed Rhysand's mother and sister instead. Rhysand and his father retaliated by killing Tamlin's parents and brothers. The two boys were standing in the hall of Tamlin's house when they became High Lords of their respective courts. Fayre continues to work on her...
