Character Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Characters
David Foster Wallace - This character's name refers to several principal people in the novel. He is both a general narrator as well as the main character.
Merrill Errol Lehrl - This character is a high-ranking IRS official who, during the novel, is in the process of transferring his office to the Peoria Regional Examination Center (REC).
Claude Sylvanshine - This character does primary research at the Peoria office. He is known for his psychic abilities.
