Summary

Lydia goes to the Otter to help out with an evening event. She is helping to set up, performing the same task over and over again. With her heightened senses, Lydia feels Gideon watching her, just out of sight. The situation unnerves her. While carrying a heavy box of party decorations down the stairs, Lydia is forced to get uncomfortably close to Gideon while passing by him. He gropes Lydia's butt. She is in shock, and after putting the party favors away, finds that he has emailed her asking for the two of them to see each other. Lydia immediately feels sick.

Lydia puts a picture titled "Three Girls" by Amrita Sher-Gil from an art book on her wall, next to the puppet. Lydia begins to paint, which she has not done in years. It comes out poorly, and Lydia feels lost and...
