Summary

In Chapter 19, Marie cooked fried wild turnips for breakfast in an attempt to begin eating more traditional indigenous cuisine, and Virgil complimented them. Marie told him that her mother would be joining them for lunch with Lack. At the local casino, Virgil spoke briefly with Tommy and invited him to join the others. Lack was appalled by the blandness of the food and offered to help the kitchen staff improve it. Virgil admitted to himself that he enjoyed the resulting meal.
