Peter convinces Magda that the only way to keep her safe is to make Caliph believe that he has killed her. It will also allow Peter to gain access to him if he thinks he has control of Peter. She agrees, and makes arrangements to go underground under an assumed name. They falsify a shark attack, with only few men knowing the truth - the chief of police in Tahiti, the man she entrusts to run her island retreat, Hapiti, her contact in Mossad, those who pick her up in Tahiti, and Peter himself.
