Chapters 20 and 21 Summary

In Chapter 20, Evie runs in the direction in which she has seen Peter's car driving in the past. She finally finds his car parked in one of the driveways. Peter is sitting in a lounge chair next to an empty pool. Peter hears Evie walk up behind him and says sarcastically without looking behind him that he is surprised that the person has shown consideration by coming to check on him. Peter softens when he sees that it is Evie. She shares her hurt about what has happened to the Graysons. Peter does not seem surprised. Evie asks him to explain to her why the manager was so happy about telling the Graysons to leave.

Evie also begs Peter to tell her what happened between her father and Peter. When Peter tells Evie that she does not know him, she explains...
