Summary

Part Three begins with Chapter 53 relaying news of Peter's resignation amid scandal. He was purportedly having affairs with two mothers, and was arrested for picking up an underage girl. A flabbergasted Isaac cannot believe the charges and tries to contact him to no avail. Chapter 54 finds Evangeline reflective over her pregnancy as she is faced with the reality that the baby is not either of the boys, but more likely that of an older man she had sex with for money in Bremerton. That night Peter had picked her up initially but questioned her age and dropped her off. As the baby is more active, Evangeline cancels a shopping date with Natalia and overhears Isaac saying something about Evangeline and a mistake. Evangeline feels foolish as she believes Isaac no longer wants her in the house.
