Summary

This section begins Part Two, with Chapter 32 describing Evangeline's acclimation to school. She has made friends, becoming close with Natalia. Some girls gossip about Rebekah claiming she had sex with both Daniel and Jonah and surmising this as the reason for the tragedy. Evangeline is shaken by this as she wonders if this is close to the truth except the girl who instigated these actions is her. In Chapter 33, Isaac learns that his Aunt Becky is deteriorating and needs to be put in assisted living so he must return back East. When he tells Evangeline, she lashes out at him declaring that Isaac only cares about the baby, but it is not Daniel's and she hated Daniel.
