Summary

In Chapter 34, Walk convinced Martha to defend Vincent in the trial by telling her that Vincent would not talk to anyone else. Meanwhile, it was believed Peter and Lucy were going to adopt Duchess and Robin.

In Chapter 35, as Walk was going through his testimony with Martha, he was embarrassed when a paralyzing tremor passed through him. He cried because he was unable to stop it. Martha put her hands on his and asked why he carried Vincent with him. Walk explained it was because he was the one who turned Vincent in to the police after Sissy’s death instead of allowing Vincent to turn himself in. He believed he had not been much of a friend to Vincent.
