Summary
Part II is called “That Intoxicating Feeling”. Korin travelled to New York. Upon his arrival, he was detained for several hours by security who were suspicious of him because he had no luggage and had sewn a large amount of money and some sort of document into the lining of his coat. An Hungarian translator was brought in to interrogate Korin and he established that, although Korin was undeniably eccentric, his passport and visa were all in order, he had a place to stay at a nearby hotel arranged, and there was no justification for detaining him. Korin was allowed to leave. The narration switches to the perspective of the translator later that day, who furiously told his lover about the encounter with Korin which ended with the translator giving Korin his business card and telling him to call him if he needed...
