Summary

In “Miami, Florida Part 6,” “Brother’s Keeper,” Natalie and Patience took Patience’s kayak through the “flooded streets” to Brother’s Keeper Food Pantry (299). Helping Patience support the people overwhelmed Natalie. Because she was just a seventh grader, she wondered who would listen to her.

In “Impatience,” Natalie was unsure how her city would survive while they tried “to get back to normal,” but was determined to help (305). Later, Natalie tried calling her mother using Patience’s phone.
