Summary

In “The Sierra Nevada, California Part 3,” “The Horse in the Pool,” Akira and Sue tried coaxing Dodger out of the pool.

In “You Can Lead a Horse to Water,” after luring Dodger out of the pool with an apple, the girls rode “into the dark, smoky woods” (144).

In “Burning Ravioli,” the girls did not understand why Morris was in front of them, instead of behind. They wondered if lightning had “started fires in lots of different places” (145). Sue then told Akira about a science experiment she did in class. The experiment showed how fires sucked the moisture out of the atmosphere each year.
