Summary

In Chapter 25, Caserta did not show up to the abandoned sweet shop. Delia saw her bloody underwear on the floor near Caserta’s cot and felt annoyed, like a part of herself had been stolen. Delia decided to get dressed in Amalia’s suit. She looked out the window and saw the children gathered around Caserta, who was handing out candy. She resolved there and then that Caserta would no longer be a part of her life.

In Chapter 26, Delia took a train to Minturno. She found the house in which her family used to spend the holidays.
