Summary

In Chapter 36, Chaol regained movement up to his knees after three weeks of healing with Yrene. They joined the royal family for a formal dinner after the khagan returned from a two-week trip. Nesryn was supposed to return the following day, but she had sent word to Chaol that she and Sartaq had extended their trip for another three weeks. Hasar and Arghun told Chaol and Yrene of the news that Aelin and Dorian had revealed themselves in Skull’s Bay and attacked Duke Perrington’s army there. Aelin’s forces won and gained the Pirate Lord’s army as allies. Hasar also mentioned that Chaol had been Aelin’s lover, which Yrene did not know. Hasar suggested that Aelin may want to conquer the Southern Continent using her magic, but Chaol insisted that she just wanted to defend her lands. After dinner...
