Chapters 14-16 Summary

Thursday learns from Bowden that it is becoming known that Volescamper's Cardenio manuscript is genuine. He also tells her that she has been cleared of any wrongdoing on the Skyrail case. She can't report for work now because she is going to Osaka.

Thursday travels to Osaka via Gravitube. At the terminal she buys a ticket to Deep Drop to Sydney. A man sits next to her and introduces himself as Akrid Snell. He says that he is fictional from a crime series of books. Thursday is charged with a fiction infraction for changing the ending of Jane Eyre. The hearing is the next morning. They separate and she goes on to Osaka.
