Summary

In Chapter 26, Johnny is angry when he learns that the Hed teams will be training the next day at Beartown’s ice rink. He is also angry because the volunteers were sent first to clear the roads to Beartown’s ice rink.

Rumors at the hospital where Hannah works suggest that the politicians do not plan to rebuild Hed’s ice rink, but to combine that team with Beartown’s. Hannah hears them say the schedule had been reworked and Hed will be playing Beartown their first game. They think that if Hed wins that game it will perhaps stop the politicians from shutting down the program in Hed.

In Chapter 27, Maya befriends an elderly man who sits in the seat opposite her on the train. He asks her not to hate him because he is on his way to visit his daughter...
